A great way to end summer with a bang is to get out and enjoy some live music and we have plenty for you to choose from in the Great Outdoors region. Here’s the September line up.
Gary Bickerstaff brings you all your acoustic classic rock and today’s top favorite hits on September 1st from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Iron Mountain Grille, on September 2nd & 3rd at Blackbird Distillery, on September 8th from 7-10 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery, and on September 15th at 9 p.m. at Lakeview Lodge.
Brandon Giuffre has a blend of great acoustic songs accompanied with fantastic vocals. He’s playing on September 1st from 7-10 p.m. at Clarion River Brewing Company, and on September 8th & 22nd at 9 p.m. at The Lakeview Lodge.
Major Morgan‘s music is a combination of many different genres including Americana, folk, bluegrass, and classic rock. They’re playing at Deer Creek Winery on September 1st from 7-10 p.m.
Kurt Thomas is a fabulous one-man band who plays electric and acoustic guitar and sings, using a backing of tracks that he’s created to achieve a full band sound. Styles of music he plays are vast from the great pop songs of the 60’s and into the 80’s, songs that people love, that bring back memories of their past, but that we aren’t used to hearing people play like Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind & Fire, Crosby Stills & Nash, The Beatles, Chicago, and hundreds more. Great guitar work, including the blues of Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King and other masters. He’s playing on September 1st from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery, on September 4th in the afternoon at Medix Hotel, and on September 29th at 9 p.m. at The Lakeview Lodge.
Billy and Casey Smith are two brothers on acoustic guitar/cajon playing a variety of music on September 1st at 9 p.m. at The Lakeview Lodge.
For a night of flowing reggae jams and medleys that will make you leave your seat to get up on your feet get out to Ray’s Hot Spot on September 1st to see Ryan Melquist & the Qwister Crew starting at 9:45 p.m.
For some rock and pop classics, acoustic favorites, country and praise music venture to Deer Creek Winery on September 2nd from 2-5 p.m. or to R** Bandana Winery on September 23rd from 2-5 p.m. to hear Basement Band.
All bluegrass lovers will appreciate Mike Leslie’s guitar, vocals and a little mandolin, bass and 6 string banjo playing here, there, everywhere and especially at the Craft Beer Dinner at the Gateway Lodge on September 2nd from 5:30-8 p.m.
Head out to At the Woods Campground on September 2nd at 6 p.m. to hear some great classic rock, blues, smooth jazz and pop music with Dave Morgan who has toured on many cruise ships and with many national acts.
If you like country and classic rock music head over to Sunset at the Winery on September 2nd at 7 p.m. to hear Second Street.
Root 2 Fifth is an acoustic music duo that plays classic, timeless country and rock tunes. They will be at Deer Creek Winery on September 2nd from 7-10 p.m.
Pipe Dreams play all your funky, psychedelic rock tunes and recreate the sounds of the mid 60’s & 70’s with an unparalleled set list of over 200 of your favorites from that era. The Beatles, Stones, Doors, Monkees, Motown & Philly sound is just a bit of what you will hear on September 2nd from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.
The Necessary Experience is a fun, funky rock and roll band playing top hits from The Beatles, Steve Miller, Marvin Gaye, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and Motown. In essence, they’re Funky People Playin’ Funky Tunes!!! They will play at Ray’s Hot Spot on September 2nd starting at 9:45 p.m.
Wheels & Heels sing a little bit of everything. You’ll hear Journey, Juice Newton, Stevie Nicks, Captain and Tennille and a whole lot more. Hear them live on September 3rd from 2-5 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery and on September 15th 6-9 p.m. at Iron Mountain Grille.
The Jeff Blair Band will be rocking R** Bandana Winery with some classic rock for you on September 3rd from 6-9 p.m.
Hear all your Journey favorites as the ultimate Journey tribute band Eclipse performs them for you live at the Lakeview Lodge on September 3rd. Gates open at 6 p.m.
Is blues, jazz, country and Texas swing your thing? Then Ricci Hardt is a must see at Allegheny Grille on September 5th from 6-9 p.m.
Bob Shawgo plays electrifying rock with a unique show of great music and comedic interaction on September 7th from 5-8 p.m., September 16th from 2-5 p.m. and September 29th from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.
Spruce Creek Band play a variety of genres including rock, pop, country and more at The Foundry on September 8th. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Samantha Sears will be playing her special blend of eclectic acoustic rock on September 8th from 6:30-9:30 at Iron Mountain Grille on September 24th from 2-5 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery and hosting open mic night on September 30th at Clarion River Brewing Company.
Chaz plays all your classic and dance rock favorites. They have been playing together for a long time and have always been very good. They are at Ray’s Hot Spot on September 8th starting at 9:45 p.m.
Do you love indie and folk rock, pop, blues and traditional Irish tunes? Well that’s just what you’ll hear when you come to Deer Creek Winery to hear Sean Carey and the Transit Band on September 9th from 2-5 p.m.
Remedy X is a modern alternative rock group hailing from South Florida. Their new album “Ephemeral” is powerful and dynamic, with a lyrical message that speaks to the entire spectrum of human emotion and life experience. They are playing at the Groundhog Picnic & Phil Phest on September 9th. Get your tickets now.
For some great classic rock and roll get to Deer Creek Winery on September 9th from 7-10 p.m. to hear High Above 80.
Robyn Young performs hits from Miranda, Patsy, and Cash to Skynyrd, Creed and Staind; Pop, blues, country and rock with a unique twist. She is also a songwriter, so you will hear some of her originals as well. Robyn pours her heart out in every song while playing guitar and harmonica. You will surely hear one of your favorite tunes. She’s playing on September 9th from 7-10 p.m. at Iron Mountain Grille and on September 17th from 2-5 p.m. and September 22nd from 7-10 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.
Trixx band plays all your favorite classic rock hits from the 70’s and 80’s including Journey, Styx, Bryan Adams and so much more. These guys have been together for a long time and it shows. They are playing on September 9th starting at 9:45 p.m. at Ray’s Hot Spot.
Rock Jazz Trio features guitar, violin and bass and perform old time jazz and Gypsy jazz with a sprinkle of classic rock & folk covers. They will be at Deer Creek Winery on September 10th from 2-5 p.m.
Max Schang Trio of Blues Band does a collection of well-known blues tunes performed with a sense of fun and an original approach…and, as always a crowd-stompin’ good time so get your stomp on at Allegheny Grille on September 12th from 6-9 p.m.
The Windy River Band plays all types of music from country, to oldies to classic rock that you can dance to and have a blast! If you like to dance —- you’ll love this band. For over a decade they have played all over Western PA and want to play for you so don’t miss them on September 15th from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.
Come out and listen to Nick Forsyth covering some Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty and much, much more on September 16th from 2-5 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery.
No Excuses is a 3-piece acoustic band playing a little bit of everything from the Beatles to the Foo Fighters, Collective Soul to Fleetwood Mac. They’re playing on September 16th from 7-10 p.m. at Iron Mountain Grille.
2B40 is a band of 40-somethings playing a combination of original songs and some of their favorite cover tunes. They’re playing at Deer Creek Winery on September 16th from 7-10 p.m.
The Benny Benack Band features Benny’s virtuosic artistry on sax, clarinet, trumpet and vocals and backed up by some of Pittsburgh’s hottest musicians wailing, rocking, and charming the audience with jazz styles ranging from New Orleans Dixieland to modern day players. They’re playing in Lincoln Hall on September 16th at 7:30 p.m.
The Rock Aholics are a group of veteran musicians kicking out great classic and dance rock hits by artists like The Tubes, Def Leppard, Bruno Mars, Billy Joel, The Bee Gees, Loverboy, Styx, The Eagles and many, many more and they are delivering it at R** Bandana Winery on September 16th from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
We Speak Canadian will be playing all your favorite dance hits from yesterday and today with a hard rock twist at Ray’s Hot Spot on September 16th starting at 9:45 p.m.
Ashleigh Bennett plays combination of acoustic, singer-songwriter, and indie piano, guitar and vocals with a touch of folk and a hint of classical. And minor keys. Lots of minor keys. She’s playing on September 17th at 1:30 p.m. at DeBence Antique Music World.
Hog Hoffman will play a variety of country and classic rock acoustic songs on September 17th in the afternoon at Medix Hotel.
Justin Moyar is playing original & favorite jazzy folk blues on September 16th starting at 9 p.m. at Clarion River Brewing Company.
If you need jazz, standards and swing tunes in your life then Jazz Lite is the band that you need to see on September 22nd from 5-8 p.m. at the Iron Mountain Grille.
The Well Strung Trio is excited to bring fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, and upright bass to the Clarion River Brewing Company on September 22nd from 7-10 p.m.

White Cat Out is a premier classic rock and new rock cover band. Covering artists such as BTO, Huey, Ozzy, Counting Crows, The Clarks and tons more with plenty of cover material for all audiences plus added originals. They’re playing on September 23rd from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.
Two For Flinching combines some of the most talented musicians in the area with an entertaining stage performance and a spectacular sound and lighting show. The quartet switches effortlessly between smooth funk, hard rock and groovin’ dance rhythms, while providing sweet vocal harmonies, dazzling technical musicianship and a dose of humor. Hear your classic rock favorites with Mid Life Crisis on September 29th from 6-8 p.m. at DuBois Harley Davidson’s Bike Night & Car Cruise-In.
The Drunken Sailors (Jim and Beth) are an easy listening, summer classics and soft pop duo bringing your favorite summertime hits to life on September 30th from 1-4 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.
The newly formed band ArCaDe will give it up at R** Bandana Winery on September 30th from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
Singer-songwriter Coston Cross continuously uses all his life experiences and the influences of Garth Brooks, George Strait, George Jones and believe it or not Guns ‘n Roses to shape his own style of new country music. He is a must see at Deer Creek Winery on September 30th from 2-5 p.m.
Spanning four decades, The Ozone Rangers are a classic rock, country, and ZZ Top tribute band. Relying on a groove of bluesy bass and drum rhythms sprinkled with some tasty Southern licks, the Ozone recipe has stood the test of time like a bottle of Jack Daniels on a woodshed shelf. Wear your cheap sunglasses and see them live at Ray’s Hot Spot on September 30th starting at 9:45 p.m.
The region also has some terrific monthly meet ups to showcase your talent as well.
The Forest County Country Music Association has a bluegrass and country music jam session to set your toes a tappin’ and your fingers snappin’. You are even welcome to join in if you like. It happens the 2nd Friday each month at the MACA building on Pine Street in Marienville and the 3rd Friday each month at the Forest Folk School in Tionesta.
If you love American folk music; singing, playing guitar, banjo, ukulele, dulcimer or mandolin meet at Fusion Café on the first Thursday of each month where you’ll play the music of Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Peter Paul & Mary, The Kingston Trio and many, many more of your favorite classic folk tunes from the 1930’s through the 1970’s.

On the 3rd Thursday of every month Tom Frech of Dos Hombres will be hosting Medix Hotel’s Got Talent open mic night so get out there, enjoy yourself on the deck with a cold cocktail and let your “soul sing” on.
All musicians, poets, comedians, storytellers, and listeners are invited to Open Mic Night at Fusion Café on the last Thursday of each month. September’s date is September 28th.
